*International students who have earned a degree from West
Texas A&M University are eligible to apply for a one year work authorization through
WTAMU's International Student Office (ISO). The ISO will assist the student in the
application process for work authorization through the Immigration and Naturalization
Service. It is not necessary for students to have an Employment Authorization
Document (EAD) during the interview process. However, students should present the
EAD before appearing for the first day of work. During the practical training
period, if an employer decides that they want the individual to continue employment after
the first year, just contact WTAMU's ISO or the Immigration and Naturalization Service for
further guidelines on getting permanent work authorization. Many students have been
successful in gaining work authorization beyond their first year of employment
