Background: The ECS Department currently has a student accessible lab with 24 workstations that are dual-booted Windows 7 and Open SuSE Linux. The Windows configuration is designed primarily to support the various departmental programs other than Computer Science. The Linux configuration is designed to support Computer Science.
The department maintains five to seven Linux servers and one IBM system z z/OS server. Additional servers are likely as the various departmental programs grow. These servers primarily support the Computer Science program but also provide infrastructure support for the student accessible lab.
