Dr. Don Albrecht

A note from the Vice President of Student Affairs

"Student Workers add value to and are great contributors to West Texas A&M University.  First, we know that the students that work on campus develop a stronger bond to the University and because of this connection to the campus, are more likely to stay in college and graduate.  Second, wages earned by students play a critical role in helping to fund their education.   While higher wages may be possible off-campus, the convenience of working on campus and having supervisors who better understand the demands and needed accommodations for academic success can not be matched off-campus.  Finally, we know that student workers perform significant and crucial tasks for our departments, often serving as the front-line staff.  For many campus guests as well as for our own Student Body, the first person seen in most offices is a student worker.

Student workers are important to faculty and staff and to the University as a whole for our continued success.  They are more than just employees - they are the younger members of the WT family."
